Following a recent live-installation at MoMA, Hassabi returns to the theater to present STAGED. Four of New York’s most captivating dancers perform individual solos. Collectively, they form an intricate, shape-shifting live sculpture that abstracts the human form and its many capacities.

Featuring performances by Simon Courchel, Jessie Gold, Hristoula Harakas, and Oisín Monaghan.

Tickets $20
Tickets also available: The Kitchen Box Office / 212-255-5793

“With the decelerated velocity of my work, nuances that are usually dismissed become the center of the work.”

Maria Hassabi’s mesmerizing work takes its time, and asks its viewers to do the same. She relates the body to the still image and the sculptural object, interrogating the separation between performer and audience, the spectacular and the mundane. Her work has been lauded worldwide, including recent presentations at the Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam) and the Hammer Museum (LA).
